FAQs
What is the activity of Mémora International?
Management of international repatriation. Mémora International is a centralised platform for national and international transportation of deceased with a dedicated team to manage all the procedures, both at the point of origin and at the destination, following the highest standards of quality and professionalism.
In which countries do you provide service?
We provide services in every country around the world and deserve the trust of embassies, consulates, associations, and airlines.
Our active participation in associations such as FIAT-IFTA (The World Organization of Funeral Operatives), EFFS (the European funeral sector employers' association), and the Latin American employers' association ALPAR (Latin American Association of Funeral Parlours, Cemeteries and Funeral Services), allows us to maintain a relationship with a wide network of partners as an influential player on the international map of funeral services.
Our international platform was created in 2001. Previously, companies within our group in the Iberian peninsula and islands offered the service locally under their own criteria and pricing.
What are the steps in the repatriation process?
Our team of experts will provide the best timeframe estimation for the repatriation based upon the type of service chosen by the family, point of origin and destination.
There are several entities involved in a repatriation. Depending on the type of service, apart from the Funeral Home, Courts, Coroners, Civil Registration offices, Public Heath Authorities, the Police, Customs Authorities and Airlines may also intervene and be required to produce the supporting documentation.
What are the most common destinations?
While the most common destinations from the Iberian peninsula are the United Kingdom, France, Morocco, Germany, Norway, The Netherlands, Romania and Ecuador, our team can organise repatriations to any country.
What means of transportation are used?
Normally, our repatriations are arranged by plane, albeit road transportation may also be considered.
How do you perform your duties abroad?
Through our partnership agreements with the main national and international operators in the sector, collectives and communities, consulates and embassies and with the main air transport companies.
Why does Mémora International have a mobile funeral parlour?
It is part of the company's resources to cope with the management of emergency situations and major disasters. The company has highly responsive teams and protocols in place that are ready to act in these situations.
Who are your main customers?
Around 25% of our customers are private individuals, with the bulk of our other clients being insurance companies, English, German and Nordic repatriation platforms, the large French funeral groups and, finally, consulates all over the world.
